One of the most beautiful beaches on the island with mesmerizing views of Pelouzo in the distance (a protected islet not accessible to visitors), Dafni is part of the National Marine Park therefore visiting restrictions apply. Whilst outside, the beach is mostly pebbly, once you go in the water you&;ll experience the finest golden sand in the island similar to more troppical Asian beaches. Dafni is one of the most significant nesting grounds for the loggerhead turtle Caretta Caretta however, recent developments in the area have reduced the number of available nests. Access to the beach itself is by an off-road bumpy track which presents ample opportunity for taking pictures. At the beach, there are a few snack bars and tavernas for light meals, cold drinks and ice creams while the more adventurous can explore Dafni underwater by signing in the Diving Center for scuba diving.
